Dear Sir,
I'm writing to You on behalf of the Russian Subaru Forester Club. We are more than several thousands happy owners of Foresters starting from original MY'98 ones and finishing with brand new MY'07 versions. All of us think this car is one of the best ever, due to its unique combination of good off-road abilities with excellent on-road behavior. Please answer a few questions about difference between European Forester 2.0X and North American (NA) Forester 2.5X. In NA version You install:
1) Engine: 2.5L Single Overhead Cam (SOHC), 16-valve, horizontally-opposed, 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER engine, Electronic Throttle Control and i-Active Valve Lift System. Why are you not installing the same engine for the European version? We would like to buy it in the Ukraine and Russia.
2) Brakes (rear): Solid discs (266 x 10 mm), single piston calipers. Why are you not installing the same brakes for the European version? We would like to buy it in the Ukraine and Russia. In European version You install only drum brakes.
3) Suspension Rear: Strut-type with internal rebound spring and parallel link. Antilift geometry. Rear stabilizer bar. Why are you not installing the same suspension for the European version? We would like to buy it in the Ukraine and Russia. We like a suspension without self-leveling feature. The reason in our severe winter climate.
4) Audio system: 120-watt 4-speaker with 6-disc in-dash CD changer and MP3/WMA player and Auxiliary audio jack for portable media players. Whether there is any reason of absence of such audio system on the European version? I would like to buy it in the Ukraine and Russia very much with our Forester.
5) Antitheft security system with answer-back electronic chirp and glass shock sensor, and Keyless entry system with answer-back electronic chirp. Why are you not installing the same security system in European version, with standard Engine immobilizer system?
Please answer a few personal questions:
6) Very much we hope, that HID headlights and Limited-slip viscous type rear Differential will be accessible, as an option on all European models.
7) It would be good, if you'll add some more body colors, like Evergreen Metallic with same cladding, and more other variants, with all European models of Forester.
8) Do You plan to install a more advanced automatic transmission? We have a little problem with current E-4AT - if we ride vehicle with a speed 40-60 km/h in "D" mode, and sharply accelerate in a mode kick-down – we have a 1-2 seconds delay. That is not critical, but in some road situation this may affect traffic safety, when we need go out very fast.
9) Do You plan to improve current climate-control system? At 06/07 model years climate-control system not very quality stabilize temperature, sometimes need manual control of the temp knob. We can see "Subaru Forester Climate Control Fix" here: http://www.geocities.com/samiam_68/S...CS/SSC_Fix.htm
Can you make this on new Forester model, or upgrade current climate-control system?
All the listed options can be established at will of the client, but very much we hope, that we'll have the opportunity to order them with new Forester.

Как видите, японцы выполнили пункты 1,2,4,6,7,9. Причем пункт 1 - только для нашего и российского рынков. На Европу такие движки не идут. Вот и судите сами, имеет ли смысл писать подобные письма.
